Nova was stealthy by now, gaining the skill she needed to survive out in the wilderness. She had become aware in the past couple days that the facility that had lost it's horses knew where they were, i.e. Nova and her herd. Nova hadn't established a high rank among her current herd, so when they heard that her, her son and several other's like them were being hunted. The leader promptly threatened murder upon them and chased them away from their home, far, far, far from their home. Suddenly Nova found herself starting all over again.

For days they travelled under the hot sun, through the forests and over the ridges that surrounded this lush noisy territory they'd found themselves in. Raj trailed about a half-mile behind his mother, he liked to keep distance now that he was older...but not too much distance. He'd learned at an early age that it was best to follow his mother, she knew far more than anyone else he'd ever known - including those who had never seen a human in their, his mother and him were always set apart from the others. Maybe here, maybe in this new place they could get away from such an miserable curse. Raj could only hope.
Nova moved slowly, stalking her tall frame out of the shady woods and into the open grasslands of gold. The silky waving grasses matched her honey colored skin, her dark knees being hidden by the length of the thick vegetation. The mare peered from side to side, calculating where her son was, noting the silence around her before she let her head down to graze with relief. Her starving stomache soaking the nutrients to feed her malnourished body.
Raj watched his mother settle to graze, wasn't she even going to explore, a little? A snort billowed from his tight muzzle, slinky golden frame slithering through the yellowed grass with his nose to the ground, absorbing each passing horse's identity as he skimmed the dirt. Raj continued to explore while still keeping within a half-mile radius around his mother at all times.
