Blake Verona parked the truck in an empty spot of the parking lot. She got out and walked around to the other side to get her two year old son out of the car seat. She unbuckled his car seat and pulled him out. Does it still hurt sweet heart? She asked him as they walked toward the hospital entrance. Jack nodded and hid his face in his mother's neck. Blake frowned slightly and patted his back softly. It will be ok, the doctor's going to fix it. She said. The doors slid back to allow the couple to walk in, when they were in they closed.
The woman looked around the lobby for the check in desk. She quickly found it and hurried over. the receptionist smiled. "Hello dear, may I help you today?" She asked. Yes, I'm Blake Verona. My son Jack here has an ear infection. Blake said. The woman nodded and started filling a little sheet out. She stood and handed it to the a woman behind her who disappeared. The receptionist took a clipboard and pen then handed it to Blake. "Please fill this out and return when you're finished." She said and smiled. Blake took her and thanked her before siting down.
She set Jack in the seat next to her as she filled the papers out. Not even five minutes later she returned the clipboard to the receptionist. Blake sat back down and Jack crawled into her lap. She smiled softly and held him in her arms, running her fingers lightly through his short, brown hair.

Dr.Jesse Rupert walking through the main hall of the clinic, white lab coat billowing out behind him in an almost Superman-like fashion. Longer hair was gelled back and combed, keeping it out of chocolate eyes. White Niké sneakers made no noises as he walked on the tile towards the main nurses office, to which he was buzzed on his pager to visit. Picking up the clipboard newly filled out, he quickly thumbed through the pages, reading the patient's name, before walking out into the waiting room. "Jack Verona?" He called with a smile, motioning for the boy and mother to follow him into a waiting room. The elder family doctor had retired, and until they got someone to take his place, the usual emergency doctor had to fill both it and his usual job, which usually included a number of patients with broken bones, concussions and pains. He patted the examining table. "Hello there young man. If you would be so kind as to hop up on here so I can see what's wrong?" He looked toward the mother, as he sat down on a rolling stool to look over the youngster. "So, what brings you here today, Jack?" The young doctor had a knack for names, usually remembering the name of a patient until a week after they left, a visual image of the face usually popping up with the name. "I'm Doctor Rupert." He said with a smile, holding out a broad hand for the mother and child to shake.

Blake had been resting her chin lightly on her son's head as she stared at the ground thinking. Her thoughts were suddenly shattered when someone entered the waiting room and called her son's name. The little family both looked at the man and in the lab coat. He smiled and gestured for them to follow. Blake smiled and got up. She held Jack on her left hip and quickly caught up to the doctor. They maneuvered through the halls for only a couple of seconds before they were in a small examining room. The doctor patted a bed and asked if Jack would sit there for him.
Jack nodded and Blake set him down gently. She took a seat in a chair right next to the examining table. Her son looked at her and she smiled, patting his leg reassuringly. She watched as the doctor sat down on a rolling chair and rolled over so he could talk to Jack more properly. Blake gave him a small smile before returning her chocolate gaze to her son. Jack's big brown eyes took in the small room and then the doctor. He looked at he man on the stool shyly. Then the man asked why he was here today. Jack pointed to his ear. Ear hurts. He said and then let his hands fall into his lap again.
Blake smiled slightly and looked at the doctor. I believe it's an ear infection doctor. He says it hurts and I was up all night comforting him, he was crying from the pain. She said. The tone became very worried and so did the look on her face. She loved her son and she didn't want him in any pain what so ever. The doctor then introduced himself. His name was Doctor Rupert. Blake smiled and shook his large hand. She noticed how small her hand was compared to his. Nice to meet you Doctor Rupert, I appreciate you looking at my son. She said. Jack looked at he man's big hand when it was held out to him. He didn;t know what to do until he remembered his mother teaching him to high five. He gave the man a high five and quickly took his hand away. A shy smile appeared on his lips and he giggled. Blake chuckled at her son. He just learned to high five. She said proudly.

Jesse smiled warmly, nodding his head."Ear infection, huh? Lets take a look at that, shall we? I'm just going to use this to look in your ears real fast." He said, strong Brittish accent escaping his lips, all the while holding up an otoscope, and looking through it with his left eye as he spoke. He laughed as he was high-fived by the young boy."Ah, cool little Jack. I would've done the same." The young doctor had only taken care of two younger children in his rookie year, and now, three years into his residency, he was treating his third, though this time it wasn't in the Emergency room.
Holding the otoscope to the boy's left ear, he looked inside, take the otoscope out, he moved around to the other ear and quickly looked inside."You do have an ear infection, Jack." He said, nodding his head and putting the scope on a tray, turning his attention to the mother of the patient."It's a mild infection, both ears. I'm going to pubscribe him to some chewable antibotics, but I ask you not to pretend it's candy, as some children believe so even after they've tasted it, and will overdose, and most likely get a serious condition that is irriversable. Try to keep them up, and away from his reach, and tell his babysitters and other persons in the house to only feed him one every morning after he wakes up, and one at night before he goes to bed." He rolled the chair over to a counter at the side of the room and filled out a perscription sheet in messy handwritting, and stood up to give it to the mother."Take this to the front desk, and they'll ask for the pharmecy you use, so they can call in advance to have it ready. You'll need to pick them up later today. If you have any further questions, please call the clinic." With that, he waved a goodbye to the boy and mother, and waited for them to leave, so he could call the next patient in, a kind old woman by the name of Ms. Frabcios, who was suffering from back pain.
