Buffy stood at the bar. She looked around the Hall. She felt so alone these days. She had her pills with her this time. Not knowing what to do she ordered a glass of something full of alcohol. She paid the bartender and started to drink it down. Here's to my crappy day with my horse she said to herself.

What a day! Jaimen hated moving. It made life so much harder than it had to be. Especially when you can't see a thing to save your life. Thank God for guide dogs! His constant companion, Molly, had kept him from landing himself in the hospital over a dozen times just today alone. It was going to take a while before he was comfortable enough in his new apartment to take off her harness at home. Not even being able to steer himself to the bathroom properly had made Jaimen cranky when he was already fed up with the day to begin with.
Luckily his best friend and older brother, and his wife, had lovingly helped him move in so everything was set. All that was left to do was find his way around the place and then unpack. And get a job. And find a place to board Angel. And have his brother bring Angel down. And find someone to help her get used to the territory so she could pilot Jaimen safely around. God! There were so many things left to do and he was all alone to do them. It just totally shot Jaimen's nerves and he felt like he needed a drink.
So, he put on his denim jacket, his walking sneakers, and whistled for Molly. The adoring Black Lab trotted obediently to his right side and guided the handle of her harness into his hand. Then they were off.
Thankfully, they made it to the bar Jaimen's brother had described earlier without incident. Once inside, Jaimen started to regret his decision. It was a sensory overload in there and his already fragile and fraying nerves were being pushed to the limit. But, he felt that he had come too far to stop now, so he instructed Molly to guide him over to the actual bar part of the bar and cautiously lowered himself onto an empty stool. Molly sat quietly beside Jaimen, smiling her little doggy smile up at him from time to time. She also wagged her tail politely at the woman he had sat down next to.
Jaimen waited until he heard someone directly across from him before ordering. Jack Daniel's. Straight. It had just been that kind of day. "Here's to us, doll," he said softly, speaking to Molly and not realizing there was a woman next to him.

Buffy looked to the dog. Then looked to the guy. She sighed. She drank down more of her drink. Looking to the bartender. She had finished her glass. Could I get another please? she asked. She would be drunk by the end of the time she had to be here. OOC: sorry running very low on muse.

Hearing the woman speak beside him made Jaimen feel a little uncomfortable. He hadn't realized he'd sat down next to anyone. But, she didn't say anything about the seat being taken, so he gladly assumed that it wasn't and sipped at his drink silently. Molly looked up at her master, sensing his unease. She whined softly and put a paw against his leg.
Jaimen smiled when Molly expressed her concern for him. "Down, Moll," he said, shifting his leg so she'd put her feet on the floor. He didn't mind her climbing on him at home, but out in public was a different matter. She still had a few lessons to learn about being a working dog. But she was a quick learner and very willing.
Simply speaking to his own companion made Jaimen feel more uncomfortable. He didn't deal with strangers very well, for obvious reasons.

Buffy glanced to him. She looked to the dog again. She drank down most of her drink. She didn't know what to say to him. She really didn't know. It was hard on her. She felt as if she should say something. But, she was getting really shy around him now. For some odd reason she only got nervous around people she hadn't met yet.

Just knowing that there was someone sitting next to him was more than Jaimen's nerves could handle. He put his glass down on the bar, vaguely aware that there was still a few centimeters of liquid left in it. Leaning slightly, he patted Molly absently wondering if he should say something. Then as soon as that thought crossed his mind, he wondered what he would say. Jaimen really sucked at small talk with people he didn't know.
With a soft sigh passing his slightly parted lips, Jaimen reached for his glass again. Not really remembering where he had set it down and misjudging the speed he moved his hand, Jaimen found his glass. Unfortunately, he found it with the back of his hand, sending it tumbling across the bar and spilling the last few dredges of his Jack Daniel's.
Paling with horror, Jaimen jumped off his stool for lack of a better reaction. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" he exclaimed in the vague direction of the woman he had heard before. "I didn't get any on you, did I? Oh god, I'm sorry!"

Buffy glanced down her body. She noticed that none of the spilled drink had gotten on her. Nope, none of ti got on me. It's alright. If any of it happened to it dried up now she said. She picked up a nappkin or two and dried her hands off. She glanced to him, She was glad only her hands got wet.

Jaimen relaxed visibly when she said that none of the drink had got on her. He would have been so embarrassed if he'd spilled it all over her or something. He heard her drying something, her hands most likely, with napkins. Then he heard the bartender come over to retrieve the glass tumbler and mop up the counter.
Jaimen mumbled an apology to the bartender and ordered another Jack Daniel's. This time when it came, he made sure to always keep one hand on it.
He turned again to the girl. "I'm glad I didn't spill it all over you," he said, feeling suddenly emboldened. "I'm still getting used to this going out on the town thing. My name is Jaimen, by the way. And this here is Molly."
Upon hearing her name, Molly looked up and wagged her tail politely in greeting.

Buffy smiled. She liked the names. Nice to meet you both. I'm Buffy she said. She smiled and finished drying her hands. She took another drink from her glass. OOC: I'm sorry running very very low on muse today.

OOC: No worries, my supply is starting to run out a bit with all the posting I did earlier.
Jaimen smiled and lifted his glass to Buffy after she introduced herself before taking a quick sip. "Nice to meet you, Buffy," he said, setting his drink down but leaving a hand on it. "I hope you don't mind my asking, but have you lived here all your life?"
Once he started talking, especially if he'd had a drink or two, Jaimen could turn into a bit of a chatterbox. He was just one of those genuinely friendly people who loved to learn about other people and their opinions.
