She watched with sympathy for the big horse. Kody nodded,
If you dont mind me using your rope.. Mine's in the truck.
She pointed back to the chevy that was parked behind them outside of the arena pavilion. Tuff watched the bolting stallion, he has yet to slow down. But eventually, as every thing, he would get tired. She watched the sprinting horse and waited for a rope.

Max removed the second rope from his saddle and handed it over. Black Hawk stopped grunting and rose his head. He snorted and stamped a hoof into the ground. He wanted to bolt after the stallion but couldn't with Max on him still.
I'm glad I had two ropes with me said Max. He glanced to the still speeding chestnut stallion. He hoped that his fast horse wouldn't break down again. The horse had broken down a month ago from running so fast after getting out of a trailer.

Kody took the rope, Tuff under hear, his feet dancing around. Typical roping horse. Kody signalled him to the gate and opened it while on him and walked out and spotted the moving stallion. She casted the rope out and looped it comfortably. She whisped a blonde lock out of her face and behind her ear so she could see.
She nudged Tuff in his rib cage and the horse jumped to a canter then into a full gallop after the other. Kody twirled the rope a little to the side of herself to get ready then was in full swing after a second or two. She was on back of her gelding who was catching up to the thoroughbred. The dun appendix, was catching up to a thoroughbred - believe it.
Once close enough to toss the rope, she did so. Kody aimed for his head, hoping for the best with the throw.

Platinum Tigger saw the rope. He quickly moved into a racing pace. He sped ahead to get away from the rope. He only noticed Black Hawk quickly taking off after him now. Max used his rope to get Black Hawk to move quicker. He wasn't going to aim until he knew for sure the stallion wouldn't get faster.
Glancing under his arm back at Kody and Tuff, he sighed. But, he felt Black Hawk stumble underneath him. Being close to his thoroughbred would be bad for him. So he quickly jumped from Black Hawk to Platinum Trigger. The chestnut stallion got spooked. Max put the rope around his neck and pulled. He was hoping to stop the stallion. Looking back he watched Black Hawk get back up.

Kody stopped Tuff when she missed. She cussed under her breath - she rarely missed. She wound the rope up the way it was given to her and placed it in his truck bed as she watched him so some sort of acrobat move from one horse to the other. She saw the black horse get up slowly as Max was tugging on the other's neck with a rope. She was basically just spectating now, there wasn't more she could do. That horse was way beyond her crazy limit.

Max halted the chestnut thoroughbred and jumped down. He lead the panting horse to Black Hawk. Black Hawk followed behind them to the trailer. Max loaded Platinum Trigger into the trailer and double notted the lead line this time. He walked out and tied Black Hawk to the trailer.
Now you get why he's named Platinum Trigger he said. Black Hawk drank from the water bucket Max had set by him. Max went into the cooler in his truck bed. He thought maybe he should offer her something for helping him. Would you like a bottle of water or something cold to drink? I think Black Hawk is done for the day he said.

Kody watched quietly atop her gelding. She observed him, as he took his two horses to his trailer. She turned and went to hers that was near. He offered her something to drink,
No, I'm fine - thanks though.
She laughed a bit when he recalled the stallion's name. Nodding in agreement.
You ought to put him on the track. We have a thoroughbred that races periodically, he was pretty much born on the turf.
She said simply, not trying to compare the two - even though they'd run a tight race. Max's stallion probably had more spunk then her thoroughbred gelding. She slid off of Tuff and tied him to the hook on the side of her trailer and loosened the girth of her saddle and traded his bridle and tie-down for a leather halter.

Max smiled slightly. He took a bottle of water from the cooler and shut the cooler. He opened the water and drank from it. He heard what she was saying easily. I've always wanted to try that. But, he has a bad habbit of trying to throw me off once on a track. I don't think I could control him in a race. he said.
Black Hawk broke his lead rope and moved over to beside her trailer. He snorted. He was noticing something that Max hadn't noticed before. He went up behind her and nudged her.

She nodded, understanding what he meant.
Well, he won't be amazing the first time you know.
She said in a matter-of-fact tone. She stepped to the side to prevent herself from stumbling when the big gelding nudged her. She rubbed the side of his face with a smile. Curious as to what he was trying to do.

Max sighed seeing his gelding over near her trailer. So he just sat on a over turned bucket and watched. Black Hawk relaxed right when he felt her hand on his face. He snorted softly. He turned his head to look to Max. He then looked back at Kody. He was trying to tell her something about Max's feelings. He stamped his back right hoof. But, other than that he was calm.
Max finished his bottle of water and tossed it into his truck bed. He wondered what his gelding was trying to do. But, got up to check the feed in the trailer of his.

Kody smiled with a soft sigh as the big horse was acting like a big baby instead. Tuff nudged over by them, getting a little jealous of the other horse getting all of the attention. She released her grasp as he turned to look back at Max who was tossing a bottle into the bed of his truck.
Kody was petting both horses now, both having heat just radiating off of their pelts. She was relaxed, leaning against the side of her trailer steadily rubbing them both, quietly.

Max whistled to Black Hawk as he lowered the ramp of his trailer. Black Hawk heard the whistle. He nuzzled her softly before turning to go over to Max. Max tied him to the trailer and easily unsaddled him. He took a damp cloth and rubbed it on Black Hawk's back. Black Hawk snorted. He suddenly raised his back left leg to push Max gently toward Kody. Max realized what his gelding was trying to do. But, he kept cleaning the sweat on Black Hawk's back. Cut it out, Hawk. Do I have to lock in in the round pen again tonight where there is no grass said Max. Black Hawk quickly stopped trying to make Max go to Kody. He snorted.

When Hawk left her side, she got up and pulled the saddle off of him and shoved the saddle into the closet located at the tail end of the trailer, along with the saddle pads. She put his headstall on the saddle horn and locked the door securely. She walked to the bed of her truck and opened up the toolbox and grabbed a spoon. She slid the tool over the wet pelt and watched the perspiration drip off. When finished, she led her gelding into the trailer and tied him in securely and shut the slant and walked out, shutting the big door behind herself.

Black Hawk pulled on his lead when Max tried to load him. For some reason the gelding didn't want to be loaded. Max was getting frustrated with the gelding. He dropped the lead line and sat back down on the overturned bucket. Black Hawk snorted and walked back to Kody's trailer. He snorted. He was trying to do something to please Max more. But, he didn't know if they understood him. His eyes showed that he knew his owner and rider liked her.

She looked down at her watch and read the time - it was getting late and she needed to get home and get Tuff settled in before she wanted to crash. She heaved herself up and stood there for a second, relieving a sigh.
Well, it was nice to meet you, Max. I think I'm going to head back to the house and crash.. You be careful on the road.
She figured she'd leave cause he hadn't spoke to her much since they got off of the horses. She was holding a kind expression on her face, waiting to see if he would say anything back.
