When I heard that the expo was open for free schooling, I thought it would be a great way for me to see the other riders around here and get to know some of the good breeders and the such. But as luck would have it, it seemed I moved to a mostly western area. I had nothing against western riders, I've dallied in it and know all the maneuvers and the basics but eventing drew my back rather quickly. Simply put- I wasn't a western rider. I loved the sense of adventure that only a cross country course could give me.
The small buckskin pony danced under me, paying no regard to my directions. The noisy little brat wanted to see what everyone else was doing instead of paying attention to the work we had to do. When I had first arrived the arena was quite packed. I decided to wait an hour or two in hopes that it would empty out. Luckily, it did. But simply not enough for my noisy Cisco.
With a firm outside hand and a pulsating inside, I slowly brought his head back down and steadily got it rounder. The young gelding's ears slowly traveled back to lay on me, his focus finally upon his rider for a few moments.
Then a neigh came from outside, near the trailers. My gelding let loose an awkward, embarrassing, squealing, broken sounding whinny in return. I found that I couldn't help but smile at the pathetic sounding whinny.
((Any are welcomed to join ^.^))

I drove up to the expo center and got out. I led Tiny out of the trailer and groomed him. I got out his tack and tacked him up, checking the girth again to make sure it was tight and led him over to the mounting block. I had to jump a little to get up on the big Clydesdale but finally got up. I trotted him around the ring a little to warm up. The stallion saw the other horse though and trotted over to him instead of staying on the rail. Tiny, no. I said, too late. He got over to the pony and whinnied a hello. I finally got him to stop moving and fidgeting and said, Hello. I'm Jakob Hart. This is Tiny, he's a little, um, hyper sometimes. I smiled a little and looked down at the girl and her pony.

I glanced up. Literally up. From my 14.2 hand buckskin pony, the draft looked large even from there. Cisco squealed when the stallion approached. Once again, his nose went out and I lost the frame I was slowly working on. I gave an annoyed look to the horse and rider before realize it was a boy a year or two younger then me. I shifted in the saddle a bit as I pulled Cisco up to a halt, forcing his head straight so he wasn't crooked and looking at the other horse.
His broken whinny escaped him. Hi, I replied back, fighting with Cisco to keep him straight. I'm Sam, I replied, offering a small smile. Cisco is a little... Nosy, I said trying to come up with the best word possible. His broken whinny came again, sounding more like a brawing donkey then a horse. ... And a little wierd. I added.

I laughed a little and said, Yeah, Tiny can be a bit odd sometimes too. Although I'm pretty sure I've never heard him make a sound like your pony just did. I smiled a little. Have you been here long? I asked her. I'm new here pretty much. Only been here a day or two but it's nice so far. I told her.
