Xavier rode down the street in his old, red pickup. Bandit hung his head out the window looking at the new town. Xavier simply smiled as he looked around as well. The border collie began to whimper once they reached the park wanting to get out. He looked over to his companion, "Wanna go stretch your legs for a while boy?" Bandit perked up and barked in aggrement. "Okay lets go."
He pulled off at the next turn and parked in the parking lot. Bandit started to get hyper running back and forth in the seats. "Alright calm down, bud. We're getting out." He opened the door and stepped out, Bandit jumped out behind him. The medium sized dog ran off getting the new scents and Xavier walked over to a nearby bench. He sat down and watched his dog dart back and forth. He chuckled before leaning back and relaxing. Well it looked like they were getting a good start.

Lisa parked her car and got out. Kovu jumped out behind her on a leash. She sighed and started to walk into the park. The black dog staying next to her bad leg. She had a bad limp while she walked. But, she ignored it. She spotted a bench with someone on it. She sighed and walked over. "Do you mind if I sit down on this bench with you? I sort of need to rest my leg a bit" she said. Kovu sat down as she removed the leash from his collar. But he stayed with her to help her sit down if she was allowed to sit.

He heard a door slam but didn't seem to notice much more. He was a little exhausted from the ride and about dozed off a few times. When he heard someones voice he looked up to see a girl with her dog. "Of course ya can." he replied with a warm smile as he motioned to the free space to his right.
He noticed the leash attached to her dogs collar. He looked for Bandit but couldn't see him around. He stood up for a second and whistled a bit loudly. "Come on, bud!" Seconds later the black and white mongrel ran up and stopped at his master's side. Xavier looked over to the stranger and gave a weak smile, "I didn't think about it till now, but do I need him on a leash?"
He took a seat back on the bench, his left hand ontop his dogs head. After getting her answer he smiled and reached out his left hand and grinned, "I'm Xavier. And you would be?" Bandit gave some quick, guiet barks as he looked over to the other dog, ignoring the master and stranger.

Lisa smiled slightly. She sat down and held the leash. She put her hand out to his. "My name is Lisa. And my dog is Kovu" she said. Kovu gave quiet barks back to Bandit. But, stayed close by his owner. He was worried about her leg. She glanced to Kovu and touched her leg and groaned slightly.

He shook her hand, "Nice to meet ya, Lisa and Kovu." he chuckled. "This is Bandit." he replied as he rubbed the mutts head. Well she gave her dogs name so he guessed she would've wanted to hear his.
He didn't get an answer about the leash deal but didn't read to much into it. She probably didn't hear him. He thought it must have been fine since she hadn't said anything but just to be sure, he gripped Bandit's collar so he would not run off again.
He watched her movements carefully so she wouldn't think of him as wierd. He noticed her groan and couldn't help but ask. "What did ya do to your leg?" He could tell her dog was a little protective of her by just how he was acting. "Fall off a horse or something?" He could recall something like that happening to him but it wasn't that bad. Just sore for a few days.

Lisa sighed. She hated talking about her leg. But, she had to tell him. "I had a horse racing accident a few years ago. I don't ride horses anymore. I'm too afraid of them" she said. Kovu barked softly and felt the leash was on him anymore. He walked off to go behind a tree to go potty. Lisa sighed and knew her dog wouldn't go very far.

He leaned back and listened to the story. A frown appeared. He really couldn't understand how she felt. He couldn't comprehend how one could fear horses. But he wasn't too pushy and he could tell she really didn't like talking about it.
"Oh... Sorry..." He noticed that he couldn't feel Bandit anymore. He sat up and looked down to see him lying down with eyes closed. He smiled before looking back to his company. She seemed distressed.
He went silent for a few moments watching anything, just to keep his gaze off her. Trying not to make her feel uncomfortable. He finally took the courage to look back up, "Well... On the bright side, your still here." he tried to encourage her but if he was told something like that he wouldn't accept it. Maybe she would be different. Well... If not, he tried.

Lisa smiled slightly now. "Yeah, but I get to live with the pain. But, I don't mind it. I hardly notice my limping anymore" she said. Kovu ran back and sat down near her. He stretched out and laid down. But, keeping his eyes open to keep his eyes on her.

Well he was glad she accepted it and glad he didn't offend her or anything. "That's good."
He reached into his pocket when he felt his cell vibrate. He pulled it out to see he got a text. It said something along the lines: Ready to head out call when your ready. He'd forgotten that he still had to set up his appartment.
He looked down to see Bandit staring up at him. He smiled before sighing. "Well... I've got to go set up my place. Maybe we'll run into each other again." He stood up and Bandit done the same. He stretched out and yawned. It just hit him that he might want some rest too. Xavier held out a hand, "Nice talking to ya Lisa."
When they finished their goodbyes he walked away waving. The two got into the old pickup. It roared to life and Bandit took his place back at the window. He drove off with phone up to ear and left the park behind along with the new girl. "Well you'll be lucky. Get to claim your new place today" he chuckled and the dog barked. Nice way to start your new life.

Lisa carefully stood up and clipped the leash onto Kovu. They went back to her car and got in. She started it and started to head home after pulling out of the parking space. She couldn't handle the pain anymore. She was going to see a doctor at the hospital about her leg yet again.
