LIVELY LOOKIN' LUCK LuckyA gentle, almost 5yo. mare. Chestnut thoroughbred with a white stripe. 17HH exactly, very tall girl. A very soft natured girl, though gets a little hyper when on the track. Responds extremelly well to any signal, so would need a light hand and a gentle rider. If someone is too rough when riding her it will become impossible to ride her that day, so experienced jockey would be needed. A very long, powerful stride, great for long distance and could even be trained to jump. She'd make a great first race horse, though as stated earlier she needs a light handler. Wonderful to race and simply enjoys every moment of it. Could also be used as a broodmare, she also carries gray and black genes. $10,000 - ONO.

Abyss had been around and around; found one prospect and suddenly had the wind swept out of her sales when Mr. Lynch had outbid her by a good ten thousand dollars. She was bound and determined to finally get a Thoroughbred of her own; after all, after decades of training and riding and performing on the best courses in the world, apprenticing under Lukas himself, what more could a jockey want than a horse they own to train?
Spotting the delicate, leggy mare, Aby practically flung herself at the corral. She had more patience for horses than people, and in habit, always greeting the animal first. Hand stuck through the fence, she clicked gently, wiggling her fingers lightly. At 4'9", the mare dwarfed her. It didn't phase the tiny, pale jockey. "Heeey Mamas, how are you?" She cooed, kissing to the chestnut quietly.

hopping down from the truck april let alfie down after her. she grabbed a stake from the seat he had been sitting on and quickly shoved it into the ground. tying the long lead around it she smiled then turned to the collie, "sit. stay here until i get back okay babe?" patting him quickly on the head she walked over to the corral where she'd put lucky in earlier. she was dreading selling her, after all she was perhaps a perfect race horse, but she knew she couldn't keep her while the colt was still in training. striding over to the chestnut she noticed another woman standing in front of the chestnut. smiling a little weakly april called over to the woman, "taken a fancy to my mare have you?" she grinned and walked over slowly, running a hand through her hair. scratching the chestnut on the neck she sighed then turned back to the small lady beside her, "the names april james, this here is lively lookin' luck. widely known as lucky." a warm smile parted on her lips as she watched the thoroughbred.
[ew, too short. sorry its crappy!]

She heard the woman's approach and turned slightly to greet her, a giant smile leaping to her face as she laid a firm pat on the Chestnut. "I have, in fact. She's very cute. Nice build to her. JC registered? Ever raced?" She was throwing questions out a mile a minute and tried her best to contain her excitement. She wanted to get this deal done and over with before Fergal - her downright distasteful potential employer - swooped in to knock her knees out from under her with this filly, too. She scratched the Thoroughbred's nose idly. Perhaps if this one fell through she should give up and run away to the circus. Vaulting always held a sort of appeal to it... hmmm.
"Lucky. She's adorable." She was, no lie. A keen eye for horses was born with Abyss, though she had no idea if it was an inherited trait or not. "I'm Abyss Maeby. I know, funny name.." Her parents had been some real jokesters, apparently. They'd left the nearly albino infant on the front stoop of a residential home with a note pinned to her blanket in sloppy, waterstained handwriting - an abyss, maeby. Vastly, vastly amusing. She turned her expression toward the filly again, gazing at the leggy filly. "How much are you asking for her?"

biting her lip as she watched the chestnut mare april flickered her attention back to the lady before her. she was obviously a jockey, her small size accounted to that, plus her interest in the thoroughbred. a little smile played on her lips as she listened to the lady. waiting until she's finished asking questions april grinned, "pleased to meet you abyss." her name was unusual, but april wasn't bothered by it. grinning she nodded, "yeah, she's in great form. yep, she's registered and i think she's raced a few times, not much though. she's won a couple or so i think, not major ones though." april patted the mare and hopped onto the fence, resting her feet on the lower planks as she ran a hand through her hair once again. april's grin weakened when abyss asked for the price, but she quickly let it spring into action again. she knew she shouldn't of gotten attached to lucky, even in the short space of time, she was a horse in a million, much better than her two stallions. smiling softly she continued in her husky tones, "well it says $10,000, but that's only to keep the idiots away." a small chuckled escaped her lips before she continued, "she comes with tack and things and she's amazing, but i'd say around $5,500?" sighing she smiled and let her hand stroke the mares neck.

Fingering the edge of the filly's mane, Aby smiled and leaned back away from the fence. Fifty-five. Not bad, she could handle that. If she could perform. If she knew anything. If, if, if. Whatever, four digits was the average price of a horse at Keensland and have of those couldn't perform yet, so why not go for it? Abyss hosted this internal debate, head waggling back and forth as she considered it. Suddenly, she huffed, shaking it off completely and sticking her hand out to shake April's. "Well. Okay. I'll take her. It doesn't matter how she does now, just matters how she'll do in the future, so I don't even need to see her do anything.. as is, ya know." Unconventional, but she had a good feeling about the young mare.
"And... you're welcome to come visit any time you like. She'll be at Lynch Fields. Is cash okay?" Ugh, Lynch. The name just made her cringe.. but he was one hell of a jockey from his record.
