Charlie walked across the sandy beach along the shoreline, squinting slightly against the sun's glare. He didn't recognize anyone there, but it seemed like it was mostly families taking their kids to the beach for a swim or picnic. He shifted the weight of his bag on his shoulder as he continued to walk, being careful to not walk on anyone tanning or little kids running around and not watching where they were going. He continued his way further down the beach to an area that wasn't quite as busy.
He finally came to a stop to an area where the beach was more rocky. He dropped his bag which contained some water bottles and a towel, along with a few other various unimportant belongings. He took off his shirt and dropped it off his bag. He turned around, watching the waves wash up against the shore for a few seconds before making his way across the rocky beach and the water.
With no hesitation Charlie walked into the water until he was about waist deep. He dived under into the cool water and swam forwards underwater for several moments before surfacing again. He shook water out of his eyes and and began to tread water for a moment before gradually swimming out a bit deeper. He could still hear the screams of laughter from the kids further down the beach, but it was much more peaceful further down where hardly anyone else was.
Turning over Charlie floated on his back as he stared up at the cloudless sky. He had been riding Charlie earlier and it was much more refreshing to swim in the fresh, cool water and wash off the grime and sweat from the barn.

Rylie wasn't sure what'd you consider her and Rhyder. He has been gone for a while with no communication. Right now, if she were to bury her sights on somebody more interesting, she would kick him to the curb. Thing is, here lately, the thought of "us" was drowning every other thought. But, today, she figured she'd let it go and enjoy the sun at the lake, maybe get a tan or something.
She walked past the usual clumps of people and little kids running and screaming and playing. She even dodged a couple of frisbees while they floated in the air. Each step was a squeak of her flip flops, that matched the hot pink bikini and black board shorts. She paused in her tracks for a second and removed her shoes and stuffed them in her black bad, squished in with the towel and tanning lotion and other nicknacks.
When she was at the end of the jungle of people, she was on the side with a ton of rocks, big and small. She scanned around to find a rather bare spot amongst the stones to plant herself. Once in her place, she pulled the white towel out of her bag and tossed it down and parked her butt right there.
She looked around and saw a guy floating around, maybe 30 yards out into the water. He was moving too quick to be dead so she wasn't really about to stress over it. She looked around more through her blue eyes and saw a bag with somebody else's belongings, simply assuming it had to be his since there was really nobody else in this little part of the lake shore.

Charlie continued to gaze up at the blue sky before treading water again. He glanced towards the beach to see how far he was out or if the current was taking him back in. He was still fairly far out. He saw someone else not far from where he'd dropped his bag, but he couldn't tell who it was. As refreshing and nice as the swim was, he didn't really feel like going for a swim further down the beach yet. He began slowly heading back towards the beach, taking his time until his feet hit the bottom. He waded out of the water and onto the beach towards his bag.
"Hey," he said with a nod to the girl as he picked up his towel and began to dry himself off. He put the towel back down and sat down before opening up his bag. He took out a water bottle and took a long drink. He hadn't exactly planned for a picnic; he only brought a couple of water bottles and a sandwich he had made earlier that morning that has been sitting in his trunk all day. Still, it was better than nothing, especially since he'd missed lunch that day while working Charger.

While still sitting up, she caught herself staring at him. To avoid further gawking - or before it got obvious - she laid back on her towel, crossing her extended legs comfortably. Her lids were shut, but even through sunglasses, the sun still made the back of her eyelids brighter than normal. She almost twitched when she heard another voice, obviously having to be his cause if it was anybody else's this would just get too weird. Peaking through her shades, her eyes found him digging through the formally abandoned bag. With a smile, she was simple with her reply,
Hey.

Charlie glanced over to the girl when she replied. He couldn't tell by the simple reply if she wanted to be left alone or wouldn't mind chatting. He took another drink of his water, downing half the bottle before leaning back on his elbows as he gazed out at the water. He could see a boat going by with someone wake boarding behind it. He wasn't sure why anyone would want to try to wake board now; there were lots of other boats out causing many waves. If anything, it would be better to go tubing.
"Nice day," Charlie commented, knowing it was a lame comment. He hated silence at most times and found it awkward to simply sit there with the girl sitting nearby and neither of them talking. Then again, she probably came to this end of the beach to be left alone and not have to take part in awkward conversations with someone she doesn't know. As that thought crossed his mind, he decided to introduce himself. "I'm Charlie."

Rylie thought for a second, really, he's speaking to me? The impression made her smile faintly. She pulled her arms behind her head and gazed at the sky, noting the clouds moving fast, after her split second observation, she decided to speak back - conversation couldn't hurt.
Yes, too bad there's not much of a breeze.
She said with a sigh, soon she would feel gross with perspiration and would most likely go swimming. She should've brought her jetski but the idea never crossed her mind til now, of course. She nodded slightly as he introduced himself,
I'm Rylie.
She turned a bit, or as much as her position allowed her, beaming a friendly smile with pearly whites before turning back to her comfy spot and gazing back up at the sky aimlessly.

Charlie shrugged with a slight grin. "That's what the lake is for," he said as he downed the rest of the water in the bottle. He tossed the bottle back in his open bag and pulled out his sandwich. It was ham, cheese and lettuce, and didn't look remotely appetizing from sitting in his truck all day. Still, he was hungry and didn't want to wait for the ice cream truck to head down this way.
Unwrapping it he took a bite. "Nice to meet you, Rylie," he added, attempting to be polite. He doesn't usually bother with formalities but he'd rather appear to be polite than have an awkward silence. He hates awkward silences and often says whatever comes to mind to fill the often lengthy silences. He continued to eat his sandwich as he watched another boat go by, this time pulling two tubes.
"You do any water sports?" he asked after a few moments, glancing over to her in slight interest before back to the boat that had slowed down to circle back to one of the kids that fell off. He watched the kid struggle for several minutes as they attempted to climb back onto the tube before he glanced back over to Rylie for an answer.

She smiled, sitting up, assuming a good conversation about to spark. Or something worth being cordial anyways. She turned slightly and answered,
Touche'(sp?)
She nodded and watched the passing boat, close to the ringers that floated to keep swimmers separate from motors. She nodded when he asked about her being in-touch with water sports.
I love jetskis and tubing.
She turned around fully with a smile. Then watched as the kid burned into the water and fumbled back onto the tube.

Charlie nodded in agreement. "I used to go boating all the time," he said vaguely as he watched the kid finally make it into the tube. He used to always go wake boarding when he was a teen but his parents had to sell their boat when they moved and he hasn't been out since. He leaned back, watching the boat finally start going again.
Finishing off his sandwich he then tossed the wrapper into his bag before pulling out another water bottle. He hadn't really packed much to eat; he'd have to stop by somewhere on the way home and grab something else to eat. His fridge and cupboards at his apartment were almost empty from the lack of grocery shopping he's been doing lately.
After taking a sip of his second water bottle he put it in the shade of his bag and leaned back on his damp towel. It wouldn't be long until he would want to go swimming again; the sun was very hot. He didn't really like just sitting on the beach anyway, having nothing to do.

She smiled with a nod, giggling a bit as she recalled memories of how she used to go boating, tubing, and all that stuff. Rylie felt as if she had just lost interest - it must have been just the fact of her parents passing that made her reluctant to re-try it all.
We should go sometime!
She blurted and then clasped her mouth, turning a hue of red - aside from being hot already. She laughed and shook her head,
Sorry - I forgot I just met you.
Pointing to her blonde hair, she shook her head again with one more laugh then a soft sigh. She ran her small hand across her forehead to sweep the beads of sweat that began to appear in the heat. She leaned back again, but this time, she rested on her elbows stiffly for a little bit.. just gazing about with nothing really interesting to catch her eye at the moment.

Charlie glanced up at her, noticing how embarrassed she appeared. "Sure," he replied easily as he picked up a rock and threw it into the water. He watched the ripples quickly disappear. "That is, if you have a boat." Charlie would have gone boating more often if he still had one. He had gone out on the odd time with friends but that wasn't in awhile. He wondered vaguely if there was a place around here to rent a boat from although he figured that it would probably be rather expensive.
Charlie sat up, squinting slightly against the sun as he took another drink of his water. The water wasn't quite as refreshing since it was sitting in the sun for awhile but it was better than nothing. He hadn't been sitting on the beach that long since his swim but the heat of the sun was starting to affect him again; he'd have to go back in for another quick swim once he started to feel over heated again.

She turned in a bit of shock at his reply, she revealed white teeth with a smile.
I have a boat thats been parked by the stables here for a while now, along with mine and my sister's jetskies.
She said with a half-wit shrug. Sitting back up again, she stretched her arms back and forth - they had fallen asleep on her. She then stood up and looked over herself, feeling a bit gross from laying in one spot and getting sweaty. The water was calling her name, but she wasn't too sure if she really wanted to go. She might as well, nothing better to do.
Wanna go swim?
She pointed back to the water as she turned to question him. A bit of a blank, yet polite expression faded across her tan features.

"Sure," Charlie replied as he took another quick drink of his water before tossing the half empty bottle back into his bag. He stood up, stretching before quickly walking across the rather rocky beach to the water. The rocks were hot and burned his feet as he walked, so he attempted to reach the water quickly. He paused as he stepped into the water, glancing over his shoulder to see if she was coming.
He began wading quickly out into the water before diving under. He never hesitated since he knew if he stood around debating whether or not to dive under he'd eventually get cold and decide not too. He swam forwards under water before he ran out of breath and resurfaced. He shook his head slightly before glancing towards the beach to see if she was coming.

She quickly stripped from her black board shorts to reveal highlighter yellow bottoms - clearly not matching the hot pink top. She started walking towards the water, but after feeling the quick heat to her feet, she picked up a gear. With a laugh, she finally made it into the cool water. She hunched over a bit to let her feet feel relief and then waded out to him. She Finally just dove in and got her hair wet, coming up and pushing at the bottom of her eyes to get shed of possible running eye-makeup.
My damn feet almost got the third degree!
She said, shaking her head and removing her hair from the ponytail - slipping the band around her wrist. She laughed and dipped backwards to get her hair wet once again.
